Lamb and Mutton
To be honest, it is difficult to rear sheep anywhere but outside so that is exactly what we do. Lambs from the previous spring are fattened on a little rolled barley, grass and good hay, sounds appetising? The very best flavour really belongs to two year old mutton, slow maturing and tender, the problem is, we don't have the space to produce enough of it! Naturally fed meat and you know where it comes from.
As a guide, lamb is priced at around £4.50 kg.
Poultry
Geese are reared in limited numbers and are available prior to Christmas at £8.80 per kilo (£4 lb). Turkeys likewise are priced at £6.60 per kilo (£3 lb)
Honey
Our honey has won several prizes at different shows, a find blend of Heather and flower honeys from bees kept year round in a moorland apiary.
