The Yorkshire Pig Company is an initiative launched to market the livestock and produce of a collective of North Yorkshire Smallholders.
The Director of this informal operation is Joe Jacobs, a seasoned small farmer and author. Joe's scribblings have appeared in Smallholder, Country Smallholding, This England and Home Farmer. His latest offering is “Build it!” DIY Projects for Smallholders, Farmers and Gardeners available from Farming Books and Videos.
We do not run large scale farming enterprises nor are party to the fast food concept. Our livestock is kept outside in stress free environments, our animals are happy and healthy and we know what they are fed on.
Due to our laid back rearing methods there is little commercial demand for our slowly grown tasty meat, the supermarkets aren't interested in our products and neither are we in them.
